Jordan L. Austin's clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples, families and groups in private practice, community agencies and hospital settings. She specializes in working with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, grief and loss, and interpersonal relationships. She is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and trauma-focused approaches.

Austin's research interests primarily focus on counselor education and development, specifically how interpersonal dynamics and attachment-strategies influence both counselor-client and supervisee-supervisor relationships. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, Association of Counselor Education and Supervision and Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling. Austin will serve as the Counseling Department's CACREP Liaison and co-advisor for CSI's Lambda Rho Upsilon Asheville chapter.
